May 16 - 2009 U.S. Bank Pole Pedal Paddle
The U. S. Bank PPP draws racers of every type as teams, pairs
and individual participants, alpine ski, cross-country ski,
bike, run, canoe/kayak and sprint to the finish, in this competition
from Mt. Bachelor to the finish line at Les Schwab Amphitheater
in the Old Mill District near downtown Bend. The Elite Division
starts the alpine ski leg at 9:15am. Spectator festivities
start at 11am at the Les Schwab Amphitheater area of the Old
Mill District and include food & beverage booths, sponsor
booths with everything from apparel to raffles, and music
in the Beer Garden. Location: Mt. Bachelor and Bend, OR When:
9 am - 3 pm
May 21 - May Ladies Night
Thursday, week 3, every month. Specials and promotions for
the ladies at Downtown Bend retailers and restaurants all
evening long. Location: Downtown Bend When: 5pm until closing.
May 23 - Teen Dance
When: 05/23/2009 8:30pm–11:30pm Dance the night away while
the DJ plays the latest tunes. Ages 13–19 welcome. $10 cover
charge. Please check with Concierge for location.
May 24 - Glow Games
When: 05/24/2009 9:15pm (starts at dusk) A glow-in-the-dark
event for the whole family! Play a rousing game of Bocce Ball
with flashing bocces, watch light-up discs fly through the
air or use flashing balls on our neon putting course. We supply
the glow you need to keep your family having fun long into
the night. Games will open after dusk. $12/person allows you
to play all of the games. No reservations required. Located
on the Sunriver Resort putting course.
May 24 - Memorial Day Weekend Fun Run
When: 05/24/2009 9am Choose between a 5-mile run or a 3-mile
run or walk. Pre-race meeting at 8:45am. Race begins at 9am;
race day registration is from 8–8:30am outside the Meadows
Pro Shop. Ribbons given to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place runners
in each age and gender category. Walkers’ times are not recorded,
but participants receive ribbons. Walkers: $12/ person; includes
Sunriver water bottle. Runners: $25/ person pre-registration;
$30 race day registration. Pre-registration closes 5pm Saturday,
May 23rd; includes a t-shirt.
May 25 - Memorial Day
May 30 - L & S Gardens Rhubarb Festival
The Dutch oven cooking club will be preparing numerous dishes
in their Dutch ovens all featuring rhubarb. Everything from
glazed pork roast, jams, jellies, cookies, bread and much
more. Admission is free.

2:00pm: 6/13 and 6/20 La Cage Aux Folles adds new dimensions
to the boulevard comedy about homosexuals whose twenty years
of domestic tranquility are shattered when a son, fathered
during a one night fling, decides to marry the daughter of
a bigoted politician. Albin and Georges run a transvestite
nightclub where Albin is the featured performer Zaza. Georges
agrees to masquerade as "normal" when he meets the father
of the bride to be, with hilarious results.

Jun 26 - Pacific Crest Weekend Sports Festival
Each year, during the last weekend in June, athletes, joined
by their family and friends, converge on Central Oregon to
take part in the Pacific Crest Sports Festival. 2009 marks
the 13th year for this event that is expected to draw 4,000+
athletes. The Pacific Crest, which is known as the jewel of
multi-sport events in the Northwest has become a destination
race for athletes from across the nation as well as Internationally.
The Pacific Crest Sports Festival includes the Long Course
Triathlon, Endurance Duathlon, Marathon & Half Marathon, Olympic
Distance Triathlon & Duathlon, 5K & 10K Run/Walks, and a Kid's
Splash Pedal-n-Dash Triathlon & 1-mile and 1/2-mile Dash.
The Long Course Triathlon is the TRI NorthWest Long Course
Tri Championship. The Marathon is a Boston Qualifier.
The Pacific Crest Weekend begins on Friday morning, and the
Celebration continues through Sunday. The weekend will include
a Health & Fitness Expo, great food, beer garden, live entertainment,
fun, camaraderie, and to top it off, some of the best competitive
racing you will find in the country. The following is a schedule
of events:
Pacific Crest is being dubbed as one of THE PREMIER events
of it's kind in the entire nation. The triathlons are both
expected to again sell out and it is advised that you register
AND make your travel plans early.
Come join us for a weekend of excitement in beautiful, sunny
